UK Shipping is Discontinued

Now that Brexit is done, the U.K. is asking me to create a special account and collect VAT of 20% on top of purchase price at the time of purchase and pay them quarterly, lest the packages be held forever or returned to sender. For the time being, I will no longer be shipping to the UK. Operationally, it makes little sense for me at this point. I apologize for the inconvenience.
