Striata
Striata
Handmade in America, I designed and made all the parts.
This TEXT links to a detailed overview video also featured at the bottom of the mobile listing!
All Desiderata fountain pens were designed around the Zebra G dip nib, with provision for other nibs; you will make your final selection when you add an item to your cart.
Notes :
Black and White ebony, the material from which this pen was made varies from all white (rare) to mostly black (rare). Most pens have a mix of both.
Filling system is screw-actuated piston. (Kovacs.)
The filling system reservoir is Cellulose Acetate and though more environmentally friendly than acrylic plastic, it is quite stainable, so be forewarned.
Ensure the piston KNOB is all the way down (without over tightening!) before you try to screw the filling mechanism into the barrel. If it’s not, you won’t be able to put the barrel on. Don’t try to force the barrel on if it won’t screw in all the way.
Don’t unscrew the knob without a nib collar in place, the piston will unscrew, and it’s holy hell trying to get it back in there without the right tool.
Because I’ve taken away the ink window, I gave the filling system triple start threads, so you can access it more rapidly than before. Some units may have an opaque (black) reservoir.
